Our services

Not sure which service fits your situation?

Call during our published support hours and describe your question. A travel-assistance specialist can discuss the possible next steps. No service fee for the initial consultation. If you choose paid assistance, we'll disclose our service fee before you agree. Airline charges and fare differences are separate.

Simple process

Three steps, one phone call

Call and tell us what happened

Have your booking reference, passenger name and flight dates ready. If you cannot locate your confirmation, the agent can explain what information may be required.

We review your options

A live travel agent helps you review the fare rules that apply and the options that may be available.

You decide how to proceed

There is no obligation to continue. If you choose a paid service, we disclose the service fee before you agree.

Before you call

Have these to hand

Having these ready helps the agent review your options more quickly. If you cannot locate something, the agent can explain what may be required.

  1. Your confirmation codeUsually a six-character booking reference from your confirmation email, sometimes called a PNR or record locator. Formats vary by airline and by where you booked.
  2. The passenger name as bookedIt should match the identification or travel document required for the trip — identification is checked during the travel process, and a mismatch can cause problems.
  3. Your flight dates and routeOriginal departure date, the airports, and the new dates you have in mind if you already know them.
  4. How you paidCard, points, travel credit or a third-party site — this can affect which refund options may be available.
  5. Where you bookedDirectly with the airline, or through an online travel agency. Some changes must go back through whoever issued the ticket.

Why travelers call us

A real person, not an automated menu

We are an independent third-party travel assistance service. A live travel agent can help you review the options that may be available for your booking, subject to the airline and ticket issuer's rules.

Answered around the clock

Disruptions don't keep business hours, so neither do we.

Straight answers

We will say when a change may not be worth making, or when it may be better to contact the airline directly.

Free initial consultation

The initial consultation is free. If you choose a paid service, our service fee is disclosed before you agree. Airline charges are separate.

Many airline bookings

Assistance with bookings involving many U.S. and international airlines, subject to the ticket issuer's rules.

Be honest with me

Do you actually need us?

Many changes you can make yourself online. Here is a straight comparison so you can decide.

Handle it yourself
  • Your change is simple — a date move on a flexible fare, or adding a bag.
  • The airline's app or website is already showing you the option you want.
  • You have time to wait on hold and are comfortable reading fare rules.
  • There is no fee involved, so there is nothing to weigh up.
Worth a call to us
  • The website says the change is not possible and you want a second read on why.
  • You are not sure whether a refund or a travel credit may apply.
  • Your itinerary has multiple segments, carriers or a codeshare involved.
  • You are traveling soon and need to understand your options quickly.
  • The airline cancelled and you want to review the options that may be available.

If you call and it turns out you are better off going direct to the airline, we will tell you that.

Know where you stand

US passenger protections, in general terms

General information published by the US Department of Transportation. Whether any protection applies depends on the airline, the fare and the circumstances of the itinerary.

The 24-hour reservation rule

For bookings made directly with an airline at least seven days before departure, the airline must offer either a 24-hour cancellation with a refund, or the ability to hold the fare for 24 hours — whichever it chooses. The requirement applies to airlines, not to travel agents or online travel agencies, which may set their own policies.

If the airline cancels

Where an airline cancels or significantly changes a flight and the passenger does not accept the changed flight, rebooking, credit or other compensation, a refund to the original form of payment is generally required — and is generally issued automatically. A voucher cannot be substituted unless the passenger affirmatively accepts it.

Significant schedule changes

DOT rules describe particular changes that may make a refund available if the passenger declines the new itinerary: departure three or more hours earlier or arrival three or more hours later on a domestic itinerary (six for international), a different origin or destination airport, added connections, an involuntary downgrade, and certain accessibility-related changes. Not every schedule change qualifies.

Refunds must be prompt

Where a refund is due, it is generally required within seven business days for a credit-card purchase and 20 calendar days for other payment methods. If that passes, contact the airline or the merchant of record shown on your statement.

Delayed and lost baggage

Where a checked bag is significantly delayed, the checked-bag fee may be refundable. Airlines may also be liable for reasonable expenses caused by baggage they lose or delay, up to a set limit.

Who issues the refund

Where a ticket was bought through a travel agent or online travel agency, the entity shown as the merchant on the payment statement may be responsible for issuing the refund rather than the airline. There is also no US federal requirement for airlines to compensate passengers for a delay itself; meals and hotels during a delay follow each airline's own commitments.

Rules change, and parts of this framework are under active review. For the current rules, see the US DOT Aviation Consumer Protection pages. This summary is general information only. It is not legal advice, and SkyBuzzz does not determine eligibility.

How we charge

Fees, in plain terms

The initial consultation has no SkyBuzzz service fee

Calling to ask what your options are carries no SkyBuzzz service fee and no obligation. If the answer is that your airline’s own app or website can handle it, that is what we will tell you, and the call can end there.

A service fee applies only if you ask for further assistance

If you ask us to assist beyond the consultation, a SkyBuzzz service fee may apply for our time and administrative work. The exact amount is disclosed to you before any paid work begins, and you must agree before you are charged. Nothing is charged without your agreement.

Airline and ticket-issuer charges are separate

Fare differences, change or cancellation penalties, seat charges, baggage charges and taxes are determined by the airline or the ticket issuer, not by us. They are separate from our service fee, and your quote identifies each component and the total amount you are authorizing. Full details are in our refund and service-fee policy and our terms and conditions.

The same assistance may be available elsewhere

We say this plainly because you should know it: flight changes, cancellations and seat requests can often be arranged directly with your airline or original ticket seller, potentially for free or at a lower cost. You are never required to use us.

We cannot guarantee outcomes

Available options depend on applicable law, fare conditions, airline and ticket-issuer policies, the itinerary and availability. SkyBuzzz cannot guarantee an outcome or override an airline or ticket issuer. Be cautious of any service that promises a specific result before reviewing your booking.

FAQ

Common questions

We review information you provide, explain possible options and, if you choose paid assistance, perform the agreed administrative work available to us. SkyBuzzz is an independent service, not an airline, and cannot control or override airline or ticket-issuer decisions. We do not sell or issue airline tickets.

There is no SkyBuzzz service fee for the initial consultation. If you ask us to assist further, we disclose the exact service fee before any paid work begins and you must agree before you are charged. Airline and ticket-issuer charges are separate. Full details are in our refund and service-fee policy.

No. You may contact the airline or original ticket seller directly. In some situations, they may provide the same or similar assistance without SkyBuzzz's service fee.

No. Available options depend on applicable law, fare conditions, airline and ticket-issuer policies, the itinerary and availability. We can help you review the options that may be available, but we cannot promise a result.

No. We do not operate airline reservation systems and do not have access to an airline's private internal systems. We review the information you give us, explain the applicable rules, and help identify where a request should be directed.

Your booking reference, the passenger name as booked and your travel dates are usually enough to discuss the request. Please share your booking reference on the call rather than by email, and never send passwords, one-time security codes or full card numbers.
